Exam Results 2011 We are thrilled with our results again this year. 100% of our students passed at A2 with every student who had applied to university or higher education gaining a place. At GCSE we matched our highest ever results - 71% of our students gained 5+ A*-C with English and Maths and 83% 5+ A-C. 61% of our grades were A*/A or B. Dear Visitor
Welcome to our web site. I hope that you can find all the information you need but I thought it might be useful to have an introduction from the Head Teacher.
Prendergast Hilly Fields College is an 11-18 girls’ school with a co-educational 6th form. We have four forms of entry into years 7 -11 and pride ourselves on knowing each student individually. Our results are outstanding at GCSE and A level and there is an expectation from year 7 that our girls will achieve highly and stay on to the 6th form. Once in the 6th form there is a similar expectation that students will continue to reach their potential and gain places at universities. We were founded in 1890 as Prendergast Grammar Schools for Girls.
Our entrance criteria are in the prospectus, we are non selective but do offer 10% of places in year 7 to students with particular aptitude in music.
We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and expect all students to attend annual school journeys in years 7-9 – these help students to develop a positive approach to achievement and relationships.
Relationships between staff and students are excellent and girls do achieve their potential. Our expectations are very clear; I do not expect staff to waste valuable teaching time on dealing with behaviour, so students who do not behave properly are taken from class and families contacted.
We are very proud that our Ofsted judgement was outstanding in all areas and we were described in the report as exceptional.
Please do take the time to read through our prospectus – either for year 7 or year 12.

Dear Parents/Carers
A Happy New Year to everyone
This term has already started off in full swing with year 11 mocks and module public exams for years 10-13. It is a crucial term for students studying for public exams as the final exams start in April. I would ask you to ensure your daughter/son/ward attends the revision sessions which are running on some Saturdays and during the first week of the Easter holidays. These make a real difference to students' results and it is important they attend. You will be getting a detailed timetable soon and any queries should be addressed to Mrs Moore.
The building work continues apace, we have a lift at the park site which should be available for disabled access in a couple of weeks. The builders tell me that they are very hopeful that the new Science block and technology, art and modern foreign languages block will be ready for students at the start of the summer term so we are keeping our fingers crossed!
The senior leadership team are busy interviewing all of our present year 11 students to offer them support through to their GCSEs and to discuss their 6th form application. The team are also starting to interview the over 200 6th form students from other schools who have applied for a place here. Please remember that Prendergast year 11 students have priority for our 6th form as long as they achieve the necessary grades.
We have a number of school journeys this term, year 7 are going away for a weekend and the 6th form are going to Paris for a week. Year 9 are looking forward to their amazing trip to the Dordogne, France in the summer term. I am absolutely confident that attending residential trips has a positive impact on student learning and achievement.
We had a highly successful Christmas Fair and I would like to thank all parents/carers, students and staff who worked so hard to make it such an excellent day.
I wish everyone health and happiness for 2012
