New Year 12’s - Problem solving Company

On Tuesday 5^th September we were delighted to welcome over 200 New Year 12s to Prendergast Sixth Form. To start to cement those all-important bonds that will help all of our students to achieve, all new students spent the day in the park participating in a day run by the Problem Solving Company. Groups worked together to cross imaginary rivers, dispose of substitute toxic waste and race through sequences of numbers without speaking. I for one was very impressed by the group ski activity which saw teams or six walking in unison while all standing on huge wooden skis – with varying degrees of success! Of course the most important task of the day was to enable new students to start to get to know each other and it was brilliant to see new friendships being forged, some of which will last a lifetime.
