Prendergast students aim for medicine

On the 2nd of May, myself and eighteen other Prendergast sixth form students attended an afternoon conference for sixth formers interested in pursuing a career in medicine, nursing, dentistry, midwifery and associated professions. The speakers included three medical students and two doctors, who helped us to gain a further inside into working in the medical profession. We were also given a valuable insight into the different application processes required. Something that I will take from the conference is the advice to not just say why I want to study medicine, but to provide examples of how I have already started to develop the skills admissions tutors look for, such as organisation and teamwork.
