Mark D’Inverno Visit

It was an absolute pleasure to have Mark D’Inverno come and speak to sixth formers and Prendergast and Vale students from Key Stage 4.  Mark D’Inverno is Professor of Computer Science and Pro-Warden (International) at Goldsmiths, University of London. He was Pro-Warden Research and Enterprise from 2013 to 2016 and Head of the Department of Computing from 2007 to 2011. He holds an MA in Mathematics and an MSc in Computation from the University of Oxford, and a PhD from University College London entitled “Agents, Agency and Autonomy”.

His talk about the Future of Creativity was truly inspiring and students were able to reflect on what creativity means to them, as well as questioning the role of artificial intelligence.  As a critically claimed jazz pianist it was fantastic that two students also had the opportunity to play the piano with Mark.

Mark spoke last year at Prendergast’s Prizegiving and it was great to see him again.  As Pro-Warden of our closest University it is fantastic to have such good links with Goldsmiths.

Thank you Mark
