Prendergast Sixth Form celebrates another year of exceptional A Level success

Prendergast Sixth Form is proud to announce another outstanding set of A Level and BTEC results for the 2026 academic year. These results reflect the continued determination, ambition and hard work of our students, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff.

This year, 27 percent of all exam results were graded A* to A, and 55 percent of all grades achieved were A* to B.

Headteacher, Kelly Lovegrove, said:

“A huge congratulations to all our students on a truly fantastic set of results! You have shown incredible determination and resilience during your academic journey at Prendergast School, and today is all about celebrating your well-deserved success. A special thank you goes to our dedicated staff for continually going above and beyond to support our young people. Congratulations to each and every one of you, and we wish you the very best for whatever comes next."

Results day has brought celebration across Prendergast Sixth Form, with the Class of 2026 achieving grades that span the full spectrum of excellence: straight A*s, strong A*/A combinations, and Distinction* and Distinction awards across vocational courses. Naming every success would take far more space than we have, but Madina, Yuyan, Ibrahim, Orla, Sara, Sophia, Alexis, Natalie, Yulia, Molly, Flora, Abigail, Jack and Aidan are among those whose achievements stood out.

Those grades have translated directly into destinations. Oxford and Cambridge offers were held by a number of students across the cohort, and on results day many met or bettered the conditions attached to them. Elsewhere, students are heading to Imperial College London, UCL, King's College London, and to Bristol, Warwick, Manchester, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Bath and Exeter, alongside a wide range of other institutions.

Nathan Mealor, Head of Sixth Form, added:

"What strikes me about this year group is the variety of destinations. Some are off to Oxbridge, some to Russell Group universities, some to art schools, some straight into degree apprenticeships with major employers and each of those choices was the right one for the student who made it. The grades are excellent, but it is the thoughtfulness behind these decisions that I will remember. They leave us well prepared, and I expect to be hearing about them for years to come."
